Focussed Workshops

We have created a series of workshops that are specifically aimed at exploring and challenging modern day influences that children and young people are exposed to.
These sessions were created due to seeing a need to start to have open and honest facilitated discussions in a safe environment. Our workshops focus on the ability to understand and listen and create an environment where we can respectfully challenge and change thought processes.
Each element of the workshop will be bespoke to the areas you feel that need addressing amongst your children and young people.
Workshops are interactive and in depth, but most of all FUN! Students want to come back week after week to learn more.

“YOUR BEST FRIEND ASKS YOU TO HOLD A SEALED PACKAGE FOR THEM OVERNIGHT AS THEY ARE IN TROUBLE WITH THEIR PARENTS AND ARE GETTING TOO MUCH GRIEF. THIS FRIEND HAS BEEN THERE FOR YOU THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE AND YOU DON’T WANT TO LET THEM DOWN. DO YOU HOLD THE PACKAGE?”

TIME FRAME: Half-day workshops.
Providers often ask us to hold these sessions with groups that have been identified as vulnerable and at risk of grooming for criminal exploitation.
We discuss all elements of being groomed for County Lines including the “line” and what young people go through. The group learn to understand that this is abuse but can see how the internet and certain apps can make it look appealing to young people due to glamorisation of gangs.
The workshops create the safe environment young people need to reflect on what is happening within their communities, using controlled facilitated debates to bring about change and learning, as well as a mixture of media, activities and art to suit all learning styles.
As an example of one the fun and engaging activities we use, the groups take part in an ‘interactive risk line’; each young person is asked to listen to a scenario and stand on the part of the line which would be their response to the scenario.
This exercise really gets young people thinking about how they would feel in certain situations and enables them to talk out loud about their response to the scenario. What is so amazing about this section of the day, is how young people try to encourage others to join them over their side and use their powers of persuasion and reasoning to get others to think differently. This is where most of the discussions and debates happen.
We play examples of ‘Drill’ music, which most young people know, but young people are shocked when we unpick the words and they learn the true meaning of what they are listening to.
So that your children and young people do not feel singled out for these sessions, we explain that we wanted them to be “Champions” for other young people within their school/setting, to help others understand what grooming for County Lines and Criminal Exploitation means.
We have never met a young person that doesn’t want to take part; due to the environment we create all children are happy to share their thoughts and opinions, grab a pen and to get involved.
“Do you hold the package?”

During workshops discussing trafficking, children immediately started deleting explicit content from their phones
